Project Brief
ACORD-U in consortium with IRC and WORUDET are implementing a project re-branded “SHE CARES project” in Bidibidi refugee settlement. Targeting mainly adolescent girls and young women (AGYW), the project majorly focuses on advancing the learning agenda on self-care in humanitarian settings. |
Key project interventions include; Contextual and stakeholders’ analysis on self-care landscape in Yumbe District; Research activities using user centered design (UCD) approaches to identify the critical challenges the AGYM face and together with AGYW design and validate possible solutions and or innovations to mitigate and or address the challenges; Demand creation for adolescent girls and young women Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights services including family planning; Training of self-care promoters (Health Workers, drug shop owners), project teams and other stakeholders in SRH Self-care innovations, service delivery, mobilization techniques and advocacy for SRH activities and budgeting; Training of community structures mainly the youth champions, peer mentors, health educators, Refugee Welfare Councils to support communities in their jurisdiction in administering self-managed contraception (SMC) and strengthen community mobilization mechanisms for Family Planning sessions and or project activities altogether and Supporting and participating SRHR coordination activities at subnational/district level and national level.
